Once upon a time there was a girl who saw the world differently to other people. This is the story of that girl in words, photographs and a bit of dark humour. All images and opinions are my own unless otherwise stated. If you’re easily offended or see the world in black and white, then you’re almost definitely in the wrong place.
who’s that girl?
I’m a fairly atypical web geek living in Nottingham, England with my long-suffering boyfriend who is also my business co-founder. I’m short, mixed race, and you can win me over immediately with any kind of cake.
Other interests include New World (the TV series), Rare Breed (the book) Lords of Waterdeep, Octopath Traveler, Nintendo in general, fro-yo, Copenhagen, lake swimming in Switzerland, sunny days, The Legend of Zelda, photography, the concept of ikigai, the colour teal, and pizza (not necessarily in that order).
I’ve been blogging since 2001, when I started an HTML help website, blog and forum which was pretty well known back in the day (it resulted in a stalker who was later featured on Good Morning America for his internet stalking antics, but that’s another story). This website has gone through a million different changes and names, which is kind of a reflection of the way my life, attitudes and thoughts have evolved over the years. Many posts are incredibly old; don’t hold it against me!
I love technology; everything from cameras to computers. The majority of my jobs were in tech – with a particular focus on startups and small companies, because corporate life really isn’t me – until I co-founded Lyrical Host in 2017. You can read more about my career days at jenni.me.
2017 was when I really found myself and my purpose, and started to become the person I am today. I love running my businesses and make it as fun and creative as possible. My focus is on creating things I love, which sometimes causes chaos for our (endlessly patient) team.
I adore animals, video games and board games, reading thrillers and business and self-improvement books, and watching Korean shows on Netflix.
Running two businesses, a blog and a podcast keeps me stupid busy, but I also love to travel when I get the chance. The last countries I visited were Lichtenstein, Switzerland, and Italy (again).
