Follow me:

When I’m stressed out, I often don’t consciously know about it. I’ll get headaches and toothaches and other physical symptoms, but I rarely think ‘I’m stressed out’. Recently though, I know I’ve been stressed out from constantly trying to keep on top of everything. I’ve been thinking about how I can solve it, and my only options are a) get a clone or b) get a dishwasher, a cleaner and various other people in to do the jobs I need to get done.

The weird thing is though that this time, my stress has been shown via strange dreams. I think this might be because my body knows that I need to keep going and the last thing I need right now are physical aches and pains (I already have them anyway from the gym). I don’t dream that often as a rule, but I’ve had increasing numbers of dreams over the past week or so. Last night I had five very strange dreams. I can only remember two of them in any detail. One involved me trying to buy an electronic chess set from a shop (don’t ask, I don’t even know how to play). I’d apparently bought a set before but returned it because it hadn’t worked straight out of the box.

There was a pushy salesman trying to sell me another, but I didn’t want to buy it because the first one hadn’t worked. I’m convinced that this dream is related to my dad, who loves chess, and how I’m trying to make him proud of me but not feeling like I’m succeeding. I guess it could also be along the lines of me rejecting some of the decisions he wanted me to make in my life, although those were a few years ago now.

The other clear dream I had was walking around a shop with Joe, holding a baby in my arms. In the dream I knew it was my baby, but I felt really panicked about having it, and guilty because I should have cared about it more. I guess that one means I’m scared of commitment, lol.

I can’t remember the others, but the last one was so horrible I even blocked it out of my subconscious I think. I woke up around 4:50am feeling extremely paranoid and stressed out without knowing why. On the way back from the bathroom, bleary eyed, I was absolutely convinced there was someone in the house, and actually flinched away from a shadow I was convinced was crouching in the corner. I nearly gave myself a heart attack. Maybe that dream means I need to watch less CSI…

I managed to get back to sleep and then woke up again at 7:30am, feeling about as tired as I did when I went to bed. I made lunch for me and Joe to take to work, hung up clean laundry, put away the things I washed up yesterday, fed the cats and changed their water, put the fruit and veg boxes outside for collection, had a shower, got dressed and left for work. I left a load of washing up because I didn’t have time to do it…looking forward to doing that tonight (not). I definitely need someone to clean, because house chores take up a ridiculous amount of time, and it’s cleaning that takes up the most time. Hopefully that will make the dreams stop, because they’re making me restless and the last thing I need right now is more nights of interrupted sleep.

What do you dream about and does it reflect your thoughts/life?

I don’t like it when I get dreams that stop me from sleeping and make me feel really horrible when I wake up.

Hope it will get better soon and you’re able to do all the things you need to do so you can relax.

Or you can just take a weekend off and relax. Don’t do anything and just relax. Have hot bubble bath (if you have a bath tub) and watch relaxing TV (nothing intense). A few days off might help you get back to track because you’ll be relaxed and refreshed.

When I was about 12 or so I used to be into the hidden meaning behind dreams. I would keep a pencil and jot down tidbits of my dreams above my bed (I don’t know why I didn’t use paper; I suppose because we were planning on painting my room, so it didn’t really matter that there was markings). Then later when I actually woke up I would go to some website and write down in a diary what each dream meant. I don’t read into my dreams as much as I did back in the day, but I also don’t remember many of my dreams compared to how many I used to remember.

I agree with Krystal; take a nice, hot bubble bath and try to relax! (:

You need to relax my dear!! Cleaning can help you relax! And don’t work so much!!! You work SOOO much! I KNOW that you’ll get a ton of money, BUT when you’re stressed out, it won’t help so much. Also, your health is more important, and in the end, you’d be paying more for it than what you’re trying to do to get more money. So RELAX! =)

My dreams usually are about the people that I’ve come in contact with lately, or people from my past. They’re just weird stuff, like hanging out or something. I’d have nightmares every now and then, and it’s usually stuff I have a phobia of, and that I’ve was in a situation involving it recently. So usually, my dreams are about people/things that I’ve encountered recently. LOL.
