Burnout?! Nah…

Last night I was feeling pretty rubbish but decided to go to my first Notts Programmers event anyway, and I totally didn’t regret my decision. Although it’s fair to say that development and coding are the weakest of my web skills, it was great to be in a relaxed environment where people were very passionate about ‘their’ languages. I met some fantastic people, and I kind of want to learn Ruby now. A lot.

Tonight one of my friends from way back is coming to stay for the weekend (yay!) We’re going to have a quick dinner and then see A Midsummer Night’s Dream outside at the castle tonight, then it’s an old work friend’s housewarming party tomorrow night. Sometime on Sunday/Monday I need to fit food shopping and house cleaning in, because the rest of the week is packed. Tuesday I have a therapy appointment and then I’m hoping to make it to a geek event I found out about yesterday. Wednesday evening is gym day. Thursday evening is going to be spent preparing food of some kind for Friday, because I’ve invited people over. I’m supposed to be attending a digital conference too, so I’m not sure how that’s going to work out yet but I think (hope) there will be videos I can download. Saturday will be spent recovering and catching up on photos and emails, and then on Sunday I have a cupcake class (this one is vintage themed, so I’m really looking forward to it). Add in 40 hours+ at the day job and it’s going to be a tiring – but fun – week :D
