What I’ve been up to over the past week (8th – 13th February, so a little late), in verbs and lists. This is a brand new series that I’m excited to share, so let’s get started!
Doing
This week was one of those odd weeks where I was feeling a lot better physically, but still-kind-of-a-bit-ill. Always dangerous because I want to start doing all the things and then burn out very quickly, but I managed to get an okay balance thanks to a lot of sleep. This week involved a couple of pub trips, going to WordCamp Birmingham, several gym visits, putting the last touches to this site ready for launch, and preparing for Valentine’s day.
Creating
Recently my creative time has been focused on this website, but I’ve also done a few little things, like the header for this blog post series (oooh, meta).
Downloading
- Mood Panda – an awesome free app for tracking moods. This week would definitely have been a lot harder without panda support!
- Creative Market’s February Big Bundle – because you can never have too many design elements.
Photographing
Nottingham, and WordCamp Birmingham.
Watching
- Masterchef Australia – we’ve finally completed the last series. Millions of episodes per season, but definitely worth a watch.
- CSI – Season 15, possibly my favourite to date. Love the storylines of this series so far!
- Mad Men – now on episode three of season three. Boom.
- Kingsmen – a solid British film, if a little overrated.
Eating
It’s been a snacky week due to simultaneously trying to save money whilst being too busy and tired to cook. Babybels, Danio yoghurt, and salmon have featured heavily, but we did make an effort for good Valentine’s food.

- The office! (x5, impressive, considering how ill I was at the start of the week)

Playing
Aside from little addictive apps (Cookie Jam and Candy Crush, anyone?), I’ve mostly been getting lost in the Water Temple in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. My fourteen year old self would not be proud.
Reading
- Along came a spider – Bought purely because it was cheap, this turned out to be a good murder mystery novel with some interesting twists. I’m definitely going to look out for the others in the series.
- Damn good ideas – a book that I dip in and out of when I’m craving inspiration.
- 100 ideas that changed graphic design – As above, but with a visual base.
Buying
I umm’d and ahh’d for ages about which version to get for ages, but I finally settled on the special edition of Majora’s Mask. I didn’t really play it much the first time around, so it’ll basically be like a brand new game.
