Yesterday Nika went to Melton with her mum, and Phil was away all weekend anyway because he’s gone to a wedding near his home, so it was just me and Andy. That evening, the phone rang so I answered it. The first few seconds were me recognising the voice but not being able to place it, until I realised it was Nate. He asked if he and Richard could come over, so I agreed. Andy was on his laptop and I was reading, so it wasn’t like we had plans or anything. I just had the feeling that it would be incredibly awkward (and my feeling was right…). When I told Andy they were coming over he didn’t look too impressed. Unfortunately, I was too curious as to what they would make of each other to take any notice of this. So anyway, they came over, we played Smash Brothers (even though I don’t really like it, as I figured it’d be an ice breaker). That idea didn’t really work – no one was talking, Andy was really quiet and spent most of the time on the Internet, and was then really moody after they left. It wasn’t exactly a success, especially as Nate kept asking Richard when they were going. Although Richard’s comment about ‘always having fun’ at our house was sweet. Thank God Richard was there, or it would have been a million times more awkward. Andy really disliked Nate, especially as he bitched about Phil (in his weird way that isn’t really insulting, more weird). So yeah…I won’t be doing that again unless it’s a party situation or absolutely unavoidable. I really want to see Richard and Nate’s new house though.

 My friend Laura also wrote on my Facebook wall that she’s back from Africa and thinks we should meet up – I’m guessing that people are slowly but surely moving into their houses in Notts now, which means that uni isn’t too far off…To be honest, I’m dreading next year for various reasons. Not really because I’ll have to work my ass off and I won’t be able to resit exams, but more the budgeting, the being away from my family for long periods of time, not having a whole lot of free time, and having to go through the whole process of talking to random people and making friends with them. I’m not an incredibly social person 24/7, and quite a bit of the time I simply can’t be bothered. It just requires so much effort. I’m sure I’ll be fine once I get into it though.

Well, I’m off to work on some more updates (yesterday and today’s are already listed on the ‘Updates’ page), and call my parents :)
