Me: “Doing this ‘The week in verbs’ blog series has made me realise how much I actually do. I do a lot of stuff.”
Joe: “Yeah no shit.”
Me: “Maybe I should stop giving myself a hard time about not getting more done.”
Joe: “You think?!”
Doing
Wedding. Doesn’t everyone get married on a Thursday night in February?

(It was a lovely wedding though. And the food and music were fab).

Windmill. We went to visit a local windmill with a couple of our friends and their kids. Unfortunately it was a pretty grey day so no chance of getting photos like the last time we were there, but Instagram flatters all…

Also, I’d used up all my flour making cookies and shortbread, so it was the perfect opportunity to pick up a bag of theirs and find out about bread making workshops at the same time :)
Streetpassing. A local gaming group had an event on Saturday, so I went along and took some homemade Tetris cookies. I won some cards in the raffle as well, which was a nice surprise and meant I made a fairly good profit ;)
I also helped judge the art contest and watched my friend (and now coworker) Naomi do an awesome sketch.

This is the finished version.
I love these events because they’re geeky, friendly, and a lot of fun.
Creating
This week has been all about baking; two batches of iced shortbread, and two batches of oatmeal and raisin cookies:
Downloading
- 25 free sets of Photoshop brushes – because my watercolours obsession is apparently never-ending.
Photographing
As above…weddingy things, windmilly things.
Watching
- UKIP: The first 100 days – I had high hopes for this as the ads looked great, but it was a bit disappointing. Some scenes were cleverly done, but it needed more of a storyline and a look at more views and potential issues.
- Big Hero 6 – It was pretty cute – and funny – but we decided it was a bit ‘bitty’ and there were several pointless drawn out bits and parts where it was being pulled in too many different directions to provide enough depth. Yeah, we dissected a kid’s film.
- Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway – Yep, guilty pleasure. Not many programmes make me laugh out loud, but this always does.
Eating
Pancakes! Because Shrove Tuesday. Not going to lie, it messed with my head having pancakes for dinner because we normally eat them on Saturday mornings watching cartoons. Eating them when it’s dark outside is strange, like putting socks on your hands.

Oatmeal and raisin cookies!

Visiting
- Cinema
- Branston Golf & Country Club
- Walkabout
- Greens Windmill and Science Centre
- Red Hot
Playing
- Majora’s Mask – Goddamn I forgot how annoying this game is. I love it but I want to kill it.
- Tetris – I baked it so I thought I might as well play it.
- Boss Monster – Because it’s awesome, unlike this photo:

Reading
- Pop goes the weasel – Another James Patterson novel that I picked up from Oxfam (bargain).
- Krispy Kreme apologizes for ‘KKK’ doughnut club
