Today I’ve been coding tables like its 1999, because I’ve been working on the company Facebook page and only external stylesheets and Javascript can be used. I don’t have access to that kind of thing since I’m not a developer, so I’ve been doing the best I can with good old HTML. Except it’s kind of frustrating since HTML on its own isn’t great for making things pretty…especially as I’ve been salivating over CSS3 examples and 3D images recently.
Last weekend I went to Leeds and spent a lot of money, and the weekend just gone I went to visit my parents and then went to Leicester and spent less money. I now have a Radley purse, keyring, smartish jacket, key covers in the shape of guitars, awesome rainbow test tube shooters, a new t shirt and some other bits and pieces. This weekend I’m staying here, but planning to go shopping again (!) My excuse is that I need summer clothes, particularly things for my holiday in September as by the time I’m ready to buy summer stuff they’ll be selling winter things. The summer stuff I do have in terms of swimwear, summer hats, sarongs etc are rather mismatched in terms of colours since I tend to buy something I like rather than because it goes with anything else I own. I’m definitely a sucker for colour and shape; I guess that’s the artistic-type genes on my mum’s side. Now it’s time to pull it all together and put together a proper collection – something I’ve not bothered to do before since I live in England.
I read Jenn’s recent blog post about not really ‘fitting in’ in the whole blogging scene, and I know exactly what she means. I’m finding the transition of developing my blog from the younger me (obsessed with internet trends and freebies and random articles) to the older me (who wants to write about technical things and social media and more ‘grown up’ aspects of owning a site) difficult. And so I’m writing about myself all the time :P
I think part of the problem is that I’ve lost touch with who my audience is. Who are you? What brought you here? What would you like to see? What matters to you?
Let me know your thoughts (and transitions if you’ve made them) and hopefully that will help me to get some much-needed direction. Then all I need is time and I’ve cracked it!

I began following your old website (stargirl?) when I was around eleven. I thoroughly enjoyed the surveys, doll makers, and your tutorials for html, css, and paint shop pro.
Fast forward several years and I am eighteen with a website of my own. I stop back every now and then to read your blog. I have html and css down and have recently gotten enough knowledge on wordpress to base my website off of that. I would enjoy php/wordpress tutorials. I am also into photography and am always looking for new ways to edit a picture in photoshop.
As for transitions, my website used to have an array of things – myspace tutorials, quotes, photography. The first two things I only had at the request of friends, but I had no drive to make those facets successful. Recently I have integrated a blog into my website and have focused it more on photography. It’s still a work in progress, but I’m getting there.

Well, as for sites/blogs… I don’t know what to tell you because I’m still doing what I’ve been doing for 8+ years, except the visitor content I offer isn’t really getting updated, nor are there any new additions. =/ I just mostly blog. So that’s my “transition”. I don’t know what to tell you about your’s, although I LOVE your blogs as it is!!

My own personal transition is going from a site that focused mostly on graphics to one that focuses more on my writing and travels. It is a much more personal site than the one I had before. It was a hard to decision to put myself out there, but I am actually enjoying it. :)

I’m probably in a similar age category as you are so things that you are interested in are probably also things that I am interested in. I like hearing about life in other parts of the world. The mundane things that you don’t usually take the time to think about.

I’ve been following you for a while (okay… randomly drop by once in a while is probably more accurate) when you had stargirl, and I think I may have even occasionally visited when you had one before that as well. To me, it almost seems as if the whole blogging scene is getting older (of course, more likely is that I tend to only… read older bloggers. I have a hard time forcing myself to care about the tribulations of a 12 year old).
It’s only natural to want to blog about different things, and you should blog about things that interest you. I suppose I’ve had a sort of transition (from blogging about things I thought others would like to thing I would like… pretty simple lol).
