First of all, big thanks to Julie and Nayana who emailed me to tell me my comments weren’t working. The reason is because comments are automatically set to ‘off’ after 14 days to reduce spam. It’s really lovely that you guys took the time out to email me, because it should have been set to 30 and somehow it got changed :) And it’s really bad that I’ve not blogged in so long!
I’ve had a kind of mild flu-type thing over the past week and a half, and now I’m pretty much recovered I’ve managed to pass it on to Joe. It starts off as a cough, and then a sore throat, and then a kind of bad cold. The coughing was the worst though because my lungs started to physically hurt. It was nowhere near as bad as when I had flu the first time in December 2007 (over my 21st birthday), because I was exhausted all the time and lost about 14 pounds through not eating properly. I haven’t even missed any days off work, although judging by the sniffles and coughs in the office now, perhaps I should have taken some time off…
I’ve been working on a new project recently…yep, another one. I seem to be able to only focus on one website at a time, which would be fantastic if I could actually get anything finished. This was supposed to be a small project, which has grown into a bigger one and taken longer than I expected. It’s a takeaway website, and I’ve used Zen Cart for it, which was initially supposed to save me time. Unfortunately, though the software itself is great (and I do have a policy of not complaining when stuff is free), the add-ons are pretty bad. There aren’t very many and a lot of them haven’t been updated for years. So I’ve written a few tutorials as I’ve been going along, and will put them up when I’m focusing on Blossom again.
I hit an all-time low in terms of money in bank account a couple of weeks back, but thankfully I got paid yesterday so it’s all good. I had quite a few big payments come out last month because I’m still paying for my laser eye surgery (until November), I booked a hotel in London for a few nights and I transferred some money to my ISA. I’m going to a conference for work next month, so I figured I may as well make a weekend of it and booked this hotel for me and Joe. Hopefully we can grab some West End tickets for a decent price, and that’s our mini-break sorted. As I’ve said before, March is the most expensive month of the year for me, although Mother’s Day in the UK is in April this year, which takes a bit of pressure off.
I haven’t been sleeping too well recently either. The past couple of days I’ve woken up at 4am, so it’s been pretty rough on my body in general. I was going to go to the gym tonight, but I’m just too tired…so I’ll probably watch Gossip Girl instead
Happy March everyone!

You might want to check your settings after you upgrade a plugin. I’ve had some reset for some reason, but I caught it because I looked at it after I upgraded. Just a suggestion. =)
Anyway, man, I’m sorry that you were super sick!! That kind of sucks that you didn’t take any days off… That might have helped. Recover quicker, I mean. Hehe.
Yeah, I know what you mean about not sleeping well either… It sucks. =( Hopefully we both can sleep better tonight, or some time soon!! =)
01/03/2011 at 11:20 pmI hope you are feeling better now. I think that flu is going around my boyfriend’s work. He hasn’t caught it yet though and hopefully it stays that way.
That sucks that you money is going down. I hate seeing my bank account going down too low.
03/03/2011 at 12:29 pmYou’re welcome for letting you know :) I was worried because I really wanted to comment. And yes, 30 days is better than 14. ;)
06/03/2011 at 3:55 pmSucks that you’re sick. It’s never ever fun!
I think you’re brave for getting laser eye surgery. The idea scares me. But I bet it’s nice to see clearly and not have eye trouble.
