I went to London at the end of last week for a conference and I’ve spent what feels like my whole time playing catch up since then. Things have been pretty extreme recently. Let’s just say there have been some bad decisions on my part and leave it at that.
But this post is going to be about the positive stuff, which was last weekend weekend. Two of my old college friends came to visit, and as well as taking some horrendous photos of me and uploading them to Facebook, we also had a great time out with some of my work friends and eating lots of food.

And taking pictures with Robin Hood.

All the Robin Hoods.

I felt like such a tourist.
They also bought me a lovely wooden notebook (and a pen – not pictured) and we watched Mean Girls and gossiped. A lot.

On Saturday we stuffed ourselves full of food and then they left to drive back. I had a nap because omgthreehours’sleepsotired and then got ready for a Halloween party.

I call this…the half arsed cat. Or half assed, if you’re from further afield.
I didn’t stay that long because I was so tired, and I’m kind of glad about that because my housemate came home and promptly spent the next four hours throwing up.* **
*totally self-inflicted.
**not pictured. Because it was bad enough hearing it from the other side of the house.
On Sunday I did some house chores and then went to the gym.

Ahhh, such a good workout.
It was the first time I’d used the rowing machine in weeks because of my shoulder injury, and I managed about 10 minutes at a slower pace than usual. Youch. It’s going to take me a while to get back up to speed, but the last thing I want is another rhomboid injury so I’m taking it slowly (well, as slow as I’d ever take anything, which is probably still faster than most people’s average).
I went on a bit of book binge, which is something I tend to do when I’ve been feeling down. I ordered about ten, but most of them haven’t arrived yet.

Then Sunday night we went out for dinner (yay chicken) and to see Thor at the cinema (yay £5 tickets). It was a lot better than the first one, because more story + more Natalie Portman = win.
Yesterday was pretty standard, except the day really dragged for some reason. Joe cheered me up by cooking a lovely peri peri chicken and rice dinner. With all the vegetables. I love vegetables so much it’s insane; in that meal alone I had about ten different types.
Abnormal number of vegetables.
And today…today has been pretty awful even though it started off really well. I have a box of pairs of jeans under my bed, and since I started watching what I eat I’ve been trying them on periodically. This morning I tried on three of the pairs and they all fit :D Huge achievement.

Completely unnecessary selfie.
So I’m wearing the pair I like the most. Although I like them slightly less now because three buttons just seems unnecessary. Especially when you’re dying to pee and you’ve had to navigate an assault course and abandoned open tins of paint to get to the bathroom (decorators are in work at the moment).
When work stresses me out I go to the nearby pet shop and look at the animals. It always cheers me up.

Bunnies! So cute!
I’m totally going to write a blog post on tips for being happy and it’s going to be PACKED full of gems like that. Packed, I tell you. So look out for it.
Tonight is Bonfire Night, which means the cats will be terrified by fireworks, so I’m going to the gym to destress completely and then go home for dinner (protein-packed veggie burger with cheese, parsnips, salad, salsa and veg…or pizza, after today) and give them lots of cuddles :)
(Sometimes I read my blog posts back to myself and think ‘There should be more drama.’. Then I realise there’s far too much drama in my life and it just never gets mentioned here. Heh).

Obviously all I took from this entry was the bunnies. ;)
05/11/2013 at 6:32 pmI love those jeans! And you look very slim in that picture! I remember when I’d lost weight and fit back into my old jeans – so proud!
I should totally do the same thing when I’m stressed out. There’s a puppy shop near my work and I love puppies so I might just try that some day. Why have I never thought of this before?!
I’m glad you didn’t post any pictures of cupcakes this time – they always make me so hungry!!! :P
