For a while now I’ve been doing the Pretend Everything Is Fine routine.1
I’ve started a couple of posts I’m not really that happy with, so until those have been rewritten, here’re some pictures…

New laptop cover, photobombed by Chief (who needs gold, right).

Iranian stew. I hate cooking, so Joe batch-made a load of things and froze them. Delicious.

Making dinosaur wrapping paper, because I’m a child.

Five Guys. New addiction.

Colouring, thanks to my friend Hannah who bought me a surprise present.

Healthy peanut and salted caramel cheesecake…lots of protein, next to no sugar.

One of the best books I’ve read this year, not least because it’s exceptionally well-written.

Cats, doing the, “I hate all cats but I want this bit of the sofa so I’ll put up with him/her being so close to me FOR NOW” thing.
Not pictured: Mario Party 10 (I’ve been playing a LOT of this), and cinema trips (Run All Night and Insurgent, both excellent).
There’s kind of a theme here in terms of squirrelling myself away at home. To some degree it’s true; I’ve had people stay over, and various social things as well as being in the office all day every day, but in other ways I’ve chosen to cut myself off for some things for now. Honestly, that’s mostly just tiredness. I get tired more (getting old), and I’ve been sleeping less due to the clocks changing and spring coming and all that lovely stuff. I’ve also been dealing with a whole range of crazy stuff I don’t want to get into here…but maybe I’ll get a chance to talk about that in the next couple of months. At the moment I’m focusing on eating a bit better and getting enough energy to get outside and get into the gym. Fingers crossed!

I’d love to know what makes an Iranian stew different from any other stew. Mostly because I’m obsessed with stew (once a Northerner always a Northerner). Also, recipe for your protein cheesecake?! Sounds incredible!
Big yes to colouring in – I own several colouring in books – and making your own wrapping paper. Being a child really is the best medicine at times.
